Photos: Nintendo Switch 2 launch in Barcelona

I’m in Carrer Pau Claris, Barcelona (which might explain why Gloss is going to be quiet for a few weeks). And honestly just thought it would be cool to see how the locals here react to the Nintendo Switch 2, which just launched this morning. It’s interesting to have a totally different cultural background but still share interests (sadly not language - I’ve been very slack in that department).
Spain is a bit of a late-starting country compared to Australia. McDonald’s in Madrid doesn’t open until 10am for example, coffee shops only slightly earlier around 9am. 10am was the norm for many other shops. Barcelona appears to be slightly happier to wake up early, with some shops opening at 9 or 9:30. Only Madrid had a midnight launch at the GAME store, which used to have an Australian presence.
It’s 25 minutes before the MediaMarkt opens, which is like a Spanish JB Hi-Fi (I believe it’s German-owned). Around 30 people are lined up.
A GAME store around the corner opens at 10am and had a similar line. It’s not huge but growing as I type.

Without a Spanish tax number I wasn’t able to pre-order online. There is a smaller line of people trying to order in store, but they may be trying to see how much stock they have for pre-orders.
