I Am Setsuna
★★★☆☆ — A classic RPG, stuck a little too far in the past
Released quietly last year on Steam and PS4, I Am Setsuna is a throwback top-down JRPG in the style of early Final Fantasy games. It’s published by Square Enix and is the first game from their new studio Tokyo RPG Factory.
Frankly the game is a little formulaic, and a lack of area variety might slow you down, but I’ve still had a lot of fun with it. The game’s simple, and perhaps feels more like an indie-RPG, but I still loved the story and gameplay. Though the constant backdrop of snow did drain me a little by the end.
